The Central Training Institute
The Central Training Institute is a departmental training Centre attached to “ Directorate of Accounts and Treasuries ”, Assam from the year,1973,imaparting training on the “ Accounting Rules and other related state government rules and orders” etc. to the inservice Officers and employees of the following category :-
 
1. Officers of the Assam Finance and Accounts Service. 2. Officers of the Assam Audit Service (Local Fund) 3. Assistant Accounts Officers of the Assam Accounts Service 4. Junior Accounts Assistants of the State Treasuries & Sub Treasuries 5. Junior Assistants of the Head of Department (Directorates) 6. Junior Assistants of District & Sub Divisional Establishments.
Initially, said training was conducted by the Accounts General, Assam and Nagaland in Shillong till the year, 1973. From the year 1973, the State Finance Department entrusted the Directorate of Accounts & Training, Assam to Conduct the “ Accounts Training ” at the Central Training Institute attached to the Directorate of Accounts and Training , Assam. The Training is conducted for whole-time basic for a period of four to six months for 35 nos. of Assistants at a time ( Batch) drawn from the Offices of the Heads of Department , District and Subordinate offices of all department and the Training Examination is imparting both "Theoretical and Practical".
The Training Faculty members are engaged from outsourcing i.e. the retired Officers of the State government and inservice Officers of the Assam Finance Service, for imparting training, good knowledge , expertise and well conversant with the following Books on Accountings and Assam Service Rules.& procedures, to trainees to perform their duty efficiently.
